TJ’s Quick Hits: NFC North Edition

Chicago Bears
Well, they do have the lethal combination of Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton at quarterback! And when you have either of those throwing to Hester, it’s an automatic win, right? Rex “Screw it, I’m goin’ deep” Grossman to Devin Hester for six!!!! You hear that a lot don’t you?
No?
But in all seriousness, Matt Forte’s a monster in the running game.
Let’s take a look at that defense, Lance Briggs, who in my opinion is the best linebacker on that team, and Brian Urlacher, who seems to have lost a step in the past few years, which is completely understandable.
Detroit Lions
I honestly thought about just writing “LMFAO” and starting on the next team. And it’s still really tempting to do, I mean it would be a fitting breakdown of the team, right?
I mean, it’s not like they don’t have talent, because they were in a few of the games this season, and just couldn’t pull it out.
If Calvin Johnson gets a halfway decent quarterback to throw to him, he could be even better.
So, we covered Calvin Johnson, right?
I guess this team’s done.
Green Bay Packers
Did anyone else notice how much Aaron Rodgers looked like Brett Favre in the first game of the season this year? Just the way he was moving and the throws he was making?
And not the 2008 final stretch Brett Favre. Not the old man, the spry looking kid at heart quarterback that we all loved at one point or another.
I’ll say it right here and now, if the Packers defense can stay healthy, they’ll easily win this division.
Minnesota Vikings
Another team that’s maybe a quarterback away from a Super Bowl.
Can Adrian Peterson overcome injury and fumbling issues? Or has he peaked?
Alright, maybe the quarterback comment was just me not thinking because they don’t have any wide receivers either.
Defense, they have a few pieces but nothing too special after the defensive line. I still remember Chad Greenway’s diving interception against the Bears I do believe.
The Vikings linebackers seem to be a bit quicker than most and are more the coverage linebackers instead of run stuffers.
But they don’t need to be, since they had the number one rush defense in the league thanks to that defensive line.
And I just had to give a shout out to Antoine Winfield for being one of the better run stopping corners in the NFL.
