Mark Cuban issues apology to Martin’s mother

According to an AP report, Mavs owner Mark Cuban issued an apology to Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin’s mother for a degrading statement.
In Cuban’s words, after the Mavs game 3 loss to the Nuggets, an angry fan stated the Nuggets were ‘thugs’ and while strolling past Lydia Moore, Martin’s mother, Cuban added, “that includes your son.”
Martin’s version indicated that Cuban called him a ‘punk’ but that’s a whole different can of worms. Rightfully so, Cuban apologized but never should have put himself in that position. He has passion for his team and the NBA but often over steps his boundaries as a owner.
How endearing is it, on Mother’s Day weekend, to tell a mother she raised a thug or a punk. Yeah, he’s rich and probably has become accustomed to doing things his way, but even if you don’t display class one in his position must exercise a little common sense every now and then. Martin should have decked him, but his restraint indicates that he is neither the punk or thug Cuban claims he is.
