Stallworth pleads guilty, will serve only 30 days

Cleveland Browns WR Donte’ Stallworth has plead guilty to DUI-Manslaughter.
On March 14, after a night of drinking in Florida, Stallworth hit and killed the 59-year-old Mario Reyes with his car. His punishment for the offense: 30 days in jail, 10 years probation, 1000 hours of community service and a financial settlement to the Reyes family, the amount undisclosed.
A life was taken, but no serious jail time was given. Is this fair? Well, it depends on who you ask. If you or I committed this crime, we would be on our way to prison, for years, not days. For those who have inflated bank accounts, no I don’t hate the rich nor am I jealous, the criminal trial process is more of a negotiation, than a quest for justice.
Don’t know what will come of Stallworth’s NFL career but I wish him well, more importantly I hope that the Reyes family is able to cope with the loss. At least money won’t be a problem for them moving forward.
