For me, it’s always a good time to talk College Football. Sure there hasn’t been a game for months, National Signing Day came and went, and no less than 22 new Head Coaches have been hired.
I guess it’s never too early or too late for me to write something that a ton of people agree [...]
The Philadelphia Flyers bolstered their defense with another addition on Thursday as they signed unrestricted free agent Ole-Kristian Tollefsen to a one-year contract worth $600,000.
Four days ago, Anthony SanFilippo reported that they were going to sign him pending a physical. It was then known that he passed his physical yesterday, which he took on Saturday.
Tollefsen, [...]

Skateboard Big Air
In skateboarding, “He who truly knows no fear must first master the mega ramp in the Big Air Competition.” I just made that up but no matter what, [...]
The Phillies have acquired, or rather stolen, Cleveland Indians ace Cliff Lee.
In a 6-player deal, the Phillies have been able to acquire the pitching help that they have so desperately needed during this first half of the season. While the pitching, and the team as a whole, has gotten better in the second half, it [...]
Lane Kiffin has made more headlines during the offseason than any other college football coach in America. Taking over Tennessee’s program, and wagging his tongue, he instantly made enemies in the Southeastern Conference, while also racking up a rash of secondary violations.
But as SEC media days were upon us, Kiffin moved into a rest period, momentarily abandoning his SEC jabs to address the difference in attendance and passion between his old conference and new.
Warren Moon is in the HOF. We all know that, but what most people are saying is: McNabb and McNair aren’t HOFers. That’s fine. But if Warren Moon is in the HOF, McNabb and McNair should be, too. Here’s why.
When you look at these QBs, you notice something. A lack of success in the completion percentage. Steve McNair has everyone beat in the completion percentage, with a 60.1 CPCT, this is followed by McNabb in 2nd. then Moon
Looking at the QB rating, McNabb leads both(86.4), with McNair coming in 2nd(82.8), then Moon(80.9).
Of all the stories published about athletes and abrupt ends to their playing careers, I think this one hits home more than others. Frankie Telfort was just one of several gems in the 2009 recruiting class. Hailing from Miami, the linebacker surprised many with his choice to attend USC and become a part of Pete Carroll’s program. Today we learn that a genetic heart condition will prevent the 17-year old from running through the historic Coliseum tunnel and onto the playing field.
Without knowing him personally, I can understand the emotion that accompanies this medical finding. My brother was a teammate of the late Hank Gathers, who succumbed to a heart condition while playing in a conference tournament game. It was the death of Gathers and others like him that sparked a move for more extensive examinations of athletes to prevent a tragic repeat.

Since the beginning of the offseason, I’ve been very optimistic that Lamar Odom will be coming back to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The switching of Trevor Ariza and Ron Artest, coupled with Kobe’s optimistic outlook in Odom returning to his rightful place, supported my hopes of Lamar coming back.
Semi-famous MMA fighter Jeff Monson, AKA The Snowman, has pleaded guilty to malicious mischief.
The 38-year-old spray painted an anarchist symbol on the Washington state capitol, a bone head move by all accounts.
After entering a plea, Monson will likely serve a 90-day jail sentence and pay $21K in restitution.
Is it just me, or have you noticed that athletes that commit crimes against people have received less jail time than those that commit victimless crimes. Gotta love USA justice.
