Derrick Mason Retires From Football!
There has been talk that Steve McNair’s unfortunate and shocking death may have caused Derrick Mason to reconsider the important things to him in life….family. Derrick Mason was adamant at Steve McNair’s funeral that he would help take care of his former best friend and teammate’s kids for him.
This retirement now leaves budding superstar Joe “Cool” Flacco without a legit passing target. In the off season the Ravens didn’t go after former Bengal WR TJ Houshmandzadeh
because he, like Mason was known primary around the NFL as a possession WR.
This should and will probably open the gates for trade talks with the Arizona Cardinals for superstar WR A. Bolden. Ozzie Newsome with his back against the wall,will fire back quickly. Mason opens up an additional 5 million on the Baltimore Ravens salary cap!
Don’t hold your breath or drown yourselves Baltimore! This ain’t the lowly Baltimore Orioles we are talking about..this is the Ravens! 2000 Super Bowl Champion football team who still has the best player in the game..#52 Ray Lewis!!!
Agreed but from a fan of a team who lost a key WR last season (NY Giants) consistency with a player is key and with Flacco entering a new season it’s not good that his #1 may be gone.
