Why Anderson Silva Will Destroy Forrest Griffin

Forrest Griffin has always been a “main event” fighter. By that I mean he puts on the best show of the night, usually.
In his legendary TUF 1 championship match with Stephan Bonnar, he gave “blood and guts” a new definition and a new picture. In a fight in which I disagreed with the decision, I could not disagree that it is the No. 1 fight in UFC history.
Anderson Silva is the best fighter I have seen. Since coming to the UFC, have you ever seen him busted up? Have you ever seen him nearing the point of submission (his, not his opponent)?
Some on B/R question his excitability factor. Some claim he has become lethargic and unattractive to the typical MMA fan.
I couldn’t disagree more. The man fights at the level of his competition. If he fights a bum, he just wins. If he fights a legend (Dan Henderson), he chokes him. If he fights a champion, he knocks him out (Rich Franklin)—twice.
He makes the best use of his knees of any fighter that comes to mind. He destroyed Franklin with knees to the face.
He is an excellent striker, a very formidable wrestler, and if a fighter allows him to get close to him, he becomes a boa constrictor.
To think that Forrest Griffin will “make Silva fight” is a certainty. To think Griffin will win is foolishness. I like Griffin, but I gotta tell you, the Spider will pick him apart with counters and knees. Then he will wrap him up Muay Thai-style and take it from there.
I don’t see anyone close to his weight beating him at this point. I would like to see Spider take on Lyoto Machida and see what he can do. Now that would be an entertaining fight.
