Exclusive Q&A with Baltimore Mariners DT Carson Jackson

I recently had the opportunity to interview the Baltimore Mariners big man, 6?5? 350 pound nose guard Carson Jackson. Here is his exclusive National Sports Review interview!!

NSR: Are you thinking about joining a CFA football team this season?
Carson Jackson: I had intentions to do so, but since I was not able to stay in Baltimore for the off-season, that destroyed most of my plans.

NSR: Which CFA teams would have been interesting to you?
Carson Jackson: Well that would depend on team chemistry and character because thats what I look for in a team. It makes me play better when every one is on the same page. But from some of my teammates that I played with on the Mariners, said that the BayHawks is where its at, or I would go coach on the Sting.

NSR: The Mariners had a tough loss in the playoffs to Reading, does that game still get you mad or does it only motivate you for next season?
Carson Jackson: Truthfully I am still upset because of certain plays and calls that were made, that should not have been, but that’s life. A focus for next season is on my mind now, and that Reading won it all, I got something to look forward to next season, crushing the defending champs!

NSR: Will Carson Jackson be returning to the Baltimore Mariners in 2010?
Carson Jackson: Only thing that can stop that is me going to a higher league such as the AFL, CFL, NFL or one of these leagues that’s paying some livable money.

NSR: If you return, what can we expect from this Mariners defense in 2010?
Carson Jackson: Focus, Hard Hitting making turn over’s and being #1 in the league in everything, from interceptions to sacks. And this time I am going to try and take that!

NSR: Is there anything you want to add?
Carson Jackson: I wish I could have started all 14 games at the nose guard position. But me being the team player that I am, I did what was asked of me, and I hope that every one that is on the 2010 team, has the same attitude that I do!

I would like to thank Carson Jackson for taking time out of his off-season schedule to do this interview! Best of luck to him and the Baltimore Mariners in 2010!!

The Baltimore Mariners are an indoor football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The team was founded when the American Indoor Football Association expelled the Baltimore Blackbirds for negotiating with another league. The AIFA still holds the lease rights to 1st Mariner Arena, so the Mariners are the league’s replacement.
