The Indonesia Kid: Vendy Satria Wongso

It was 3:30am and I had one too many Old Crow 90 proof whiskey shots. I was bored and I decided to log onto Omegle.com the site that lets you talk to random strangers(great site check it out!). I was talking to this person that had no idea where Baltimore was. I said where are you from outer space? He replied…Indonesia! I was telling him sports stories I have done here in America.
I would give him the link to my National Sports Review column. He had told me how his mother wanted him to learn english. Instead of him having to buy text books, his mom agreed that if he read my stories(I hope I didnt torture him with my writings..haha) he could save his money and not buy english books. He has dreams of one day coming to America…but today..HE IS IN AMERICA…his interview will be read by U.S. Citizens!
I have been getting lots of readers lately from all-over the World. This is a great honor to me! I recently had readers in the U.K., Amsterdam,Japan, Indonesia and France. I am speechless that people from all-over the World would log-in to read my stuff…I want to say THANK YOU!! I decided to give my first international reader by the name of Vendy Satria Wongso…his very own Sports Interview…here is what he said…all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia.
NSR: Who is your favorite American Sports team and why?
Vendy Satria Wongso: My favorite team in America is Los Angelos Lakers. In my opinion, teamwork is the most important thing you should have to get the winning crown, even skillful player without the teamwork it self wont be able to win against the weaker ones. LA Lakers have both good players and teamwork.
NSR: If you could meet one American who would it be and why?
Vendy Satria Wongso: Rodney Mullen would be the perfect answer for this question. Since currently skateboarding is the sport I’m learning now, I really like to see in person” The Living Legend”. Truthfully my jaw drops every time I see his video. He’s amazing, all the best Rodney.
NSR: Who is your favorite athlete in Indonesia, and tell us about him.?
Vendy Satria Wongso: The athlete I adore the most is Sony Dwi Kuncoro. A badmitton player, he is with great ambition, and a very humble one for standard of a World Class player. But sadly his determination to play I see is lacking. He often loses against a new player. But when he is really eager to play, he can even beat the seniors with higher experience then him, even the top 5 World players. I wish that he could maintain his mental and skills so that one day, he will become the best of all.
NSR: Who is the most famous American Sports Writer in Indonesia?
Vendy Satria Wongso: I pick TIMMM LLUUUMMBBEERRR haha. I really like how you present your message towards the readers, and also I like how you describe something. When it was the article about the guy you hate, lol…I forgot the name, you really show the anger…yea that it.
NSR: I am giving you a chance to talk to the American readers, what do you want to say to them?
Vendy Satria Wongso: In my point of view, I can tell Americans like to read. Too bad for us Indonesians, we really dont like reading that much. Thats why America has a lot of intellectuals. So from me, my advice, keep reading and for those who dont read try a small article. Once you get used to it, you will really have a great impact on the future.
NSR: Who is the greatest sports athlete in the world?
Vendy Satria Wongso: My pick for this one would be the professional footballer Ronaldinho. His passion for soccer can be seen since he was a little kid. He can do anything with the ball in his feet. He can really maximize his fullest potential and concentration in the green field. And as I say before, even with a talented feet, he still really plays it with great teamwork. I think he is one of the best among all.
I would like to thank the Indonesia Kid…Vendy Satria Wongso for doing this interview. I was very impressed by his answers. For only 18 years old, he had some great answers! I would like to say Hello..to all my other Indonesia readers as well!! Thank You for your support!!
