Browns: Preseason Week 2, the morning after

Lions Browns Football

SO Sunday, I tuned into the NFL Network and watched the Browns Lions game. I enjoyed the game, and not just because the Browns actually scored an offensive TD for the first time in nearly a year, but because what I saw on the field.

James Davis, the 6th round draft pick, ran for 116 yards, including an 81 yard run in the third quarter. Davis took the hand off, on a delayed draw, headed up the middle of the field, was met by a pack of lions, he scampered to his left and around the end, then was off to the races. 81 yards later he was celebrating in the endzone with his teammates. Davis is competing with Jerome Harrison and Noah Herron to be the Browns “Change of Pace Back” to Jamal Lewis.

Josh Cribbs, he of the recent contract dispute, returned two kicks for touchdowns, though one was called back by penalty, is looking like the Josh Cribbs of old. Josh was smooth and elusive, the Lions just had no answers for him. Cribbs showed hes been fine tuning his receiving skills as well. He pulled in a very nice 20 yard pass from Derek Anderson.
