New SJ Baseball Writer/Blogger

Meet thatbaseballguy. Brian the wonderkid brought him here, he loves to write about baseball, talk about baseball. And here’s a little more about him, he’s an active SJ Member so welcome him into our family and check him out when you see that BaseballObsessed feed come in.
How long have you been writing?
Well with being in college it feels like forever hahaha, but I literally started the blog a week ago. This week has been slow for me assignment-wise so I had a lot of time to dedicate to starting it up. I hope to continue updating daily, but college comes first.
What are your short term and long term goals for yourself?
Well, I would love to work in the sports industry/entertainment industry. I definitely want to get better at my blogging so I can put out something worthy of being mentioned on various sports websites.
Where did your love of baseball and in particular the Red Sox come from?
My dad bought me lots of baseball cards as a child so I knew the players growing up. I’ve been a Sox fan for ten years because I can’t stand the Yankees, but feel in love with the history of the Sox (as painful as it was).
Who were your baseball heroes growing up?
Ted Williams, Darren Daulton, Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens(Boston years), Griffey Jr.

Has all the steroid news of baseball tainted the sport for you in anyway?
It’s hurt and I can’t take any player performance seriously, but I’m not gonna let it bring down the sport.
Were you surprised at all by the outcome of the world series?
No. The Yankees are a team that buy their championships. There’s no heart there. I know people would argue the same about the Red Sox, but watching the Red Sox and feeling the struggles and joys is what makes it. My dad is a die-hard Phillies fan so naturally I cheered for them.

What other hobbies/interests do you have?
I love death metal, metalcore, deathcore, basically almost any variation of metal music. I go to a lot of concerts a year around the tri-state area. Football is my second favorite sport and I passively follow hockey.
Tell us a little about your blog, and we can expect to see…..and thank you for the opportunity to work with you…..
Well, it’s a general overview of MLB baseball. Right now, the offseason is very big so I’ve been covering the moves. I offer a little bit of my opinion, but would rather keep it fact based. When the spring training/season begins, I plan to mainly cover the Red Sox, Phillies, and Mets( Phils n Mets are in my viewing area and I make a few stops a season to their stadiums).
I will cover anything big that happens during the season though, and maybe eventually player profiling. Thank you!
