The Brandon Jennings Bandwagon is Filling Fast

There is not much more that is needed to be said about Brandon Jennings 55 point explosion against the Warriors on Saturday night.  He was on fire, his third quarter was indescribable for a fan of a team that has struggled so mightily the last few years as the Bucks.

As far as my analysis goes, it is as simple as this:  Jennings is too quick for most guards to stick with.  He can get into the lane whenever he wants to shoot his floater, get all the way to the basket, or dish it off for a wide open jumper or dunk underneath.  His outside shot is so much better than anyone thought.  It could by a fluke, but I doubt it.  His shot is not only going in, it doesn’t touch rim.  His outside shots and free throws are hitting nothing but net every time, so I think as time goes on we will discover this is who he is.  If he keeps it up he will become a superstar.  I mentioned on Friday, “Is Jennings a left handed Chris Paul?”, and the performance on Saturday suggests only YES can be the correct answer.  Actually, strike that, he is Brandon Jennings, a budding star that should not be burdened with any comparisons to past or present stars.

How I watched

My wife’s birthday is today so we celebrated it Saturday night by going out to dinner.  The plan was dinner, then come back home with some friends for a game of questionable legality of craps in our Malaisement with the Bucks game on in the background before going out to a bar for drinks.  Brandon Jennings third quarter performance stopped the craps game dead in its tracks.  That has never happened before.  We have stopped for a replay here or there, but during the third quarter and a chunk of the fourth, we completely stopped playing and everyone was staring at the performance.

My wife feels Jennings stole her thunder since it was her birthday.  Yep, yep he did.  I couldn’t have been happier.

Word is Out

No more proof is needed that Brandon Jennings is becoming a player discussed all over the Internet sports world than Peter King mentioning Brandon Jennings 3rd quarter performance in his Monday Morning Quarterback.  It is an honor for a NFL player to get mentioned in King’s weekly recap, but for a non-football player to get mentioned in a positive way is truly a tribute to the crossover status of that player.  Welcome to the big time Brandon Jennings.

Thanks to the Basketball Gods

Thank you for Brandon Jennings!  We really needed something to cheer for in Buckland and here it is.
