Expode in Sports:Not the Time For a Fantastic Feud

Here, here to the Washington Wizards. Not only do they have all the potential in the land to become a positive team in the Eastern Conference, but now they can’t get along. With the return of Gilbert Arenas this season and the acquisitions of Mike Miller and Randy Foye, fans in D.C. must have been buzzing. I know I would have been. Especially when pairing that combination with the likes of Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, DeShawn Stephenson, Brendan Haywood and Andre Blatche there could be something!

The only thing on the verge for the Wizards these days is the possibility for an inept implosion with team chemistry. After losing eight of their last nine contests, Arenas called out his teammates. He made the acquisition that separate agendas were the cause of the teams ill performance and that was directed towards his teammates. Wait, I thought Arenas wanted to stay out of the media this year and focus solely on basketball. I guess not. Now the Wizards face the oh, so important chemistry aspect that inevitably guides teams to wins and playoff runs. With the talent on this team and playing in the east, there is no reason for negative garbage.

Let’s look at Arenas from days past. His blog and his swagger have been on utmost display. His blog in which he would talk about himself and how he would shoot his thousand jumpers a day made him a fan favorite and an arrogant like the other player at the same time. Next thing you know, the injury bug bites him right in the lower extremities. He hasn’t been a relevant performer for his franchise in the last two seasons due to his bum knees. Now, he entered this year expressing his want to stay focused and forgo any media garbage he may get involved in. That lasted real long.

Listen, I know many out there are saying he is trying to be a leader and help his franchise. If that’s the case, act professional! Don’t go public with quotes about your teammates and how their agendas you don’t feel meet the teams needs. How do you know Butler, Jamison or any other player isn’t having a good week and are struggling with personal problems that maybe you can’t solve. Advice my friend: lend an ear to listen rather than a mouth to boast because in the end the more you care for your team and it’s issues, the more they care about you and the resolution to the problem.
