I have been giving more thought to the upcoming Mayweather-Pacquiao fight and reading everything I can get my hands on concerning it.

I have heard fans speak of an alleged steroid use by Manny, which I completely distance myself from. I don?t believe he did that. It isn?t like he is 5?7? and weighs 235. To quote from Roger Clemens, ?He doesn?t have a third eye on his forehead.?

Some are saying that Floyd is itching to find a way to recuse himself from this fight without looking like a chicken. I find that as ridiculous as Manny on ?roids.

I did some research of the two men?s last 10 fights and wanted to see some comparisons.

Here is a comparison of their last 10 fights:

The first thing that draws critical attention is the timeline. Pacquiao needs to only look back at January of 2006 to see his 10th fight viewed. On the other hand, Pretty Boy must fire up the DeLorean and go all the way back to November of 2003 to see his.

Another thing in which Manny has an edge is the number of rounds. If we were looking at rounds per year, PBF would clearly be on top of this; however, rounds per bout favors Manny be about one round.

Pacquiao has the best of it in terms of power, knocking out seven compared to only four by Mayweather. Money has been near this weight class (at least at an average) the entire 10 fights. As a contrast, Manny averages 10 pounds lighter. We could begin to draw various and sundry conclusions from these comparisons, but in the end, will it matter?

It would appear from my graphic that Manny has fought the much tougher, or dare I say more experienced fighters. His opponent?s average record is 45-3, while Mayweather?s is 38-4. Both have quality wins over big names, the biggest name on each resume is obviously Oscar De La Hoya. Money outpointed him in a split decision while Manny forced him to remain seated at the end of the eighth round.

The 10 victims of Floyd Mayweather are: Phillip N?dou, Chop Chop Corley, Henry Bruseles, Arturi Gatti (may he rest in peace), Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Oscar, Ricky Hatton, and most recently Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pacquiao?s 10 most recent victims are: Erik Morales twice, Oscar Larios, Jorge Solis, Marco Antonio Berrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, David Diaz, Oscar, Hatton, and Miguel Cotto.

Again, the edge could possibly go to Pacquiao, but it is clearly arguable. Both have disassembled some very good fighters on their way to their current success.

So, there you have it. Statistics from the most recent 10 fights from each of the fighters. It would appear that Pacquiao would have an advantage in everything on the chart sans the size. Of course a comparison like this shows no value for skills. Both men bring much to the ring in way of skills.

It should be a most entertaining bout, and I can hardly wait.
