SJ Rivals: Eagles and Cowboys

What a rematch……………..Can it get more exciting than this? With the help of Cowboystd, I asked four of our members (2 Cowboys, 2 Eagles) their thoughts on the upcoming game…………….and please feel free to put your own responses to same four questions. We’d love to hear your views on probably the most hyped game of the week. Can the Cowboys do it again? Will the Eagles end their postseason dreams yet again? And now onto four of our favorite Jabberheads, who are never at a loss for words…
Given the History of this rivalry, what’s the most memorable moment for you?
xxxyank: The eagles & I go wayyyyyy back! since I live on the east coast, I was raised around Philly fans, gone to the vet & watch cowboy/Philly games. So there are so many moments but I’ll go to the Buddy era…
I guess one of the worse game (as a cowboy fan’s perspective) was the Bounty Bowl Part 2 (Yes there was a part two). It was my Birthday present, my wife got me tickets.. it was that dreaded 89 season, Cowboys just lost to Philly a few weeks earlier(Part 1)… When I arrived at the Vet, i said “Man couldn’t they have cleaned the snow up & out of the stadium???” To my wife of about 6 months… Well needless to say…. I never saw so many snowballs thrown, along with beer bottles… It was like 70,000 people snowball fight… I know even a few Eagle players were hit…
Just don’t know who threw the snowballs???
M-247Gunner: Every time the Eagles & Cowboys battle it out is memorable to me. Each time there’s been something that has gone on that makes great stories.
Doyle: For me, my best memories of the Eagles/Cowboys rivalry comes from the era of Tom Landry and Dick Vermeil. They had some fantastic battles back then…..much better than the rivalry is today.
GA Eagle: For me, the ideal scenario is for the Cowboys to come out and play with the same fire and intensity that they did in the final game of the season. If they do, they WILL beat the Eagles.

Many people believe that the NFC East is best and most competitive division in the NFL, do you believe that the winner of this weekends matchup will go on to the Super Bowl?
xxxyank: I would like to say that… But the NFCE has only one superbowl victory this past decade. regardless of competition it’s not worthy to note if they just bicker amongest themselves…
Both teams the Cowboys & Eagles have alot of firepower but so do the Saints & Vikings. I think it really comes down to the better defense. while the cowboys have had two shutouts, the Vikings are scary on defense as much as they are on offense. I don’t think Philly & the Saints have the defense that is needed.
M-247Gunner: I think it’s the toughest year in and year out, plus all four teams have at least vigorous rivalries with each other. But given that Minnesota and New Orleans have the top seeds, I think it’ll be difficult for the East team to make it all the way. That’s not saying thay don’t have a good shot though.
Doyle: These are the two hottest teams in the NFC. The odds are good….not great, but good…..that the winner of this game has enough momentum to get to (at least) the NFC Championship game. From there, it’s 50/50.
GA Eagle: I don’t know if the NFC East is as good this year as it has been in the previous 2 or 3. The NFC is up for grabs, as far as I’m concerned and I could see any of these teams taking it.
What’s the Ideal scenario for in this game?
xxxyank: In order for the cowboys to win, they must do what they did the last meeting… run the football & stop the run, win the battle in the trenches… I know everybody says it, but we won last week because we had the ball for 40+ mins… Cowboys rushed for 180 yards & they held the eagles to under 40 yards rushing… 9 times out of 10 it works… even in the playoffs
Cowboys are not built for shootouts, which would work in the Eagles favor, as they clearly have just more weapons at WR…
M-247Gunner: Payback.
Doyle: For me, the ideal scenario is for the Cowboys to come out and play with the same fire and intensity that they did in the final game of the season. If they do, they WILL beat the Eagles.
GA Eagle: Exactly the opposite of last Sunday.

Salute to four of my favorite people, their views, their ability to convey their fandom, passion.
BUT THE RIVALRY CONTINUES……….TONITE on CP radio with DOYLE, Larry, and Serrated Shadow. I heard a rumor their may even be an Eagle fan on board………….http://www.blogtalkradio.com/cowboyspride 10pm EST
