Manning To Be The Most Paid Player In NFL History

Michael David Smith of FanHouse is reporting that Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay told reporters on Media Day that he will make Colts quarterback Peyton Manning the highest paid player in the NFL.
Manning’s contract will expire after the 2010 season, and the Colts top priority heading into the 2010 season is to extend his deal. Irsay said Manning will be paid close to what the Patriots pay Tom Brady.
Manning is preparing to play in his second Super Bowl since he was drafted by the Colts in 1998. Manning was the Super Bowl MVP in 2006, and he has received three NFL MVP awards and one Pro Bowl MVP award.
