Freeney’s Super Ankle?

Dwight Freeney’s ankle has not only affected super bowl odds for the majority of sportsbooks which are now increasingly favoring the Saints for Sunday’s game, but it has also created quite a buzz among NFL fans and the media.

But the actual repercussions of the injury suffered by the All-Pro defensive end during the AFC title game vs. the Jets are extremely to be positive for the Saints; after all they won’t have to deal with perhaps one of the best pass rusher in the NFL and the Saints’ QB Drew Brees will automatically get an extra receiver to throw at.

Although Dwight Freeney’s ankle seems to be pretty injured, Colts rookie coach Jim Caldwell has ensured everyone that Dwight will play and will play at his finest during Super Bowl Sunday in spite of his injury and although fans and the team are remaining calm, the importance of Freeney’s injury cannot be underestimated: it is undoubtedly making Super bowl odds almost even for both teams.

Saints running back Reggie Bush shares his team wishes: that Freeney ultimately misses the big game so that his team gets more chances to take the Super Bowl home.
