Mosi Tatupu passes at age 54

With a heavy heart, the Empire mourns the passing of former USC fullback Mosi Tatupu, and offers condolences to family and friends. Tatupu spent four years in the program from 1974-1977. He was a member of the 1974 national championship team coached by John McKay.

Tatupu was drafted in the eight round of the 1978 draft by the New England Patriots, where he spent 13 of 14 NFL seasons, and had one Pro Bowl appearance. His son, Lofa, was a standout linebacker for USC, also winning national championships in 2003 and 2004 before starring with the Seattle Seahawks.

Mosi Tatupu died on Tuesday at the age of 54.
