Tilly’s Power Poll

medium_nba_power_rankings_week_1536315639

1. Cavs-

Really is there any team playing better ball right now? Z is about to return as is Shaq. The only team that can beat the Cavs, are the Cavs.

2. Magic-

Not quite at the same level as teh Cavs but not too far behind either. A matchup in the Eastern Conference finals could be epic!

3. Nuggets-

There is a lot going on for this team #1 being Coach Karl’s abscenses due to cancer treatment. Nothing like an ailing coach to keep a team playing motivated.

4. Lakers-
Bynum is out with an injury and Odom is complaining of a sore shoulder. Add t that, it’s been shown this season especially that to beat the Lakers you just need Kobe to take more than 30 shots. Team on the way down at the wrong time? Maybe

5. Suns-

Maybe a bit of homerism here but this team is clicking on all fronts at the right time. Amare is playing his best ball including *gasp* defense, Lopez is kicking butt and taking names. Suns are 20-9 since he became a starter. They don’t have a 6th man they have a 6th unit with Dragic, Frye and now that Barbosa is back.

6. Bucks-
Next to the Mavs there is not team hotter since the All-Star break. Since aquiring Salmons they are 14-2. The same Salmon’s who helped the Bulls surge late last year. Coincidence?

7. Mavs-

I would have placed them higher but a home loss to New York and a loss to Boston moves them down my list.

8. Thunder-

Durant is playing like the MVP he should win but most likely won’t which is a shame. They’ve only lost 5 of thier last 23 and the 4th spot in the West appears theirs to lose.

9. Jazz-

Battling with the Thunder and Suns for that 4th spot in the West. Lost a good one to Phoenix last week moves them down my list.

10. Hawks-

Josh Smith is playing like a man on a mission. I guess being snubbed at the All Star game is good motivation.
