And Your 2010 Offensive Rookie Of The Year Is…

Before his suspension during the 2009 season, Dez Bryant was considered by many as the best wide receiver in college football, and was subsequently gift wrapped to the Dallas Cowboys in the 2010 NFL Draft at 24th overall.
The selection was a no-brainer for the ‘Boys and Bryant will more than likely have an immediate and large impact on the receiving game as he should have no problem edging out oft-blinded by the stadium lights Roy Williams to play alongside one of last year’s breakout receivers, Miles Austin.
Think of that receiving corps Dallas quarterback Tony Romo will be throwing to: Austin, Bryant, Patrick Crayton, Williams, Jason Witten, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.
NFC East secondaries are already shuddering and Philadelphia is really regretting trading Sheldon Brown at the moment.
With Austin coming into his own last year, he’s automatically going to draw more coverage, Witten as always will have a linebacker and safety eyeballing him from the first snap on, meaning that Bryant will get quite a few touches just due to the lack of coverage on his side of the field.
He’s already impressing coaches during the Cowboys rookie mini-camp, according to Jerry Jones, he’s a natural. While I’m not sure what that means, I do know that he meant it as a compliment.
The Cowboys are looking like a scary team right now, especially if Doug Free can fill in for Flozell Adams, who was released earlier this off-season. Adding a young, monstrous receiver like Bryant only makes them stronger on the offensive side of the ball.
