Boston Celtics: Old-Timers D’Ease

So…I was wrong…for the first and only time this decade. And if you believe that last part, I have a team in Orlando that’s about to win a ring to sell you.
I was wrong….dead wrong…about the Boston Celtics. During the regular season, they played like the old men that they are. So, naturally, I (a Lakers fan, who should know better than pay attention to the regular season) predicted that the Celtics would enter the playoffs like old men and leave in the first round (2nd round at best) like old men.
Well, those old men have obviously discovered the Fountain of Youth, some youth elixir, or are getting youth-hormone transfusions from the disgustingly spectacular young Rajon Rondo. Old-asses Paul Pierce (aka “The best actress in the NBA”), Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen…plus that Rondo guy et al have ripped through two playoff rounds and are currently ripping (up 3-0) the Orlando Magic a new one in the Eastern Conference Finals. I wonder on which lakes and golf courses the Magic will be next week.
As a Lakers fan, I hope that the Lakers hurry up and dispatch the Suns (they won’t hurry up though…I unfortunately don’t think). Kobe, Pau & Company are going to need all the rest and energy they can muster to defeat the re-energized Celtics in the Finals.
I also hope that Dwight Howard or some other Magic player steals or contaminates the Celtics’ “magic youth elixir” while he’s in Boston. After all, he and the Magic aren’t busy doing much of anything else while visiting Bean Town.
3-0…Series over in principle. The old green leprecaun guys with the walkers, hearing aids, prune juice, and Viagra get the last “magical” laugh…with ease.
