The Davey Nelson Celebrity Golf Tournament
Davey is one of the FSN broadcasters for the Milwaukee Brewers as well as a former Major Leaguer for the Indians, Senators, Rangers, and Royals. He is currently filling in for his good friend, Bob Uecker as Bob recovers from heart surgery.
Davey lives and breathes the Baseball Life.

Davey’s annual golf outing is very important to him, and us at the Doug Davis Foundation are very proud to support him! His tournament consist’s of 18 hole’s at the Blackwolf Run Golf Course in Kohler, Wisconsin (right near Milwaukee). Pre-golf events start at 9:30am, shot gun tee off starts at noon, and a fun celebrity filled cocktail/cigar reception closes out a perfect day!

This year, the proceeds from the tournament will go towards Open Arms Home for Children in South Africa, and will also benefit the Brewers Community Foundation.

Who is my favorite of all the celeb’s attending, you ask? None other than Kenny Lofton! Other guests will include Robin Yount, Jason Grimsley, Bruce Froemming, and many more! Now if there’s a tournament you want to have a good time at (and you don’t want to wait until December for the Doug Davis Tourney!) then I would definitely suggest hitting up this one. All the celeb’s attending are down to earth, fun, enjoyable, and you will most likely make a friend for life with whomever you get paired up with! Dead serious… these retired players are the absolute best to golf with, and that’s coming from first hand experience. I’m not sure if Jon Wardon will be at Davey’s (he’s at ours every year in December) but I guarantee HE is the celeb you want to be paired up with. I promise you, it will be the best time of your life!

I will only post charities that I can personally vouch for. This one is a no doubter, and its run by great people who want nothing more than to support a great cause and they hope to motivate others to give back to those who need it! This cause is very close to Davey’s heart and because of that it’s a cause close to my heart. If you can, come out and support the cause or just enjoy the day golfing with good people. I promise you, it will be an event to remember forever… =)
