Cleveland Lands Their Man: Byron Scott To Be Named Head Coach

After weeks of agonizing over who will be the successor to Mike Brown, it appears the Cleveland Cavaliers have found their man.
ESPN.com is reporting that Byron Scott will be be named the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
After flirting with the hiring of Tom Izzo, attempting to lure Coach K out of Duke, and even two days of talking to Lakers assistant Brian Shaw: Scott has emerged as the man for the job in Cleveland.
This announcement is coming just 12 hours after it seemed like Brian Shaw was signed, sealed, and delivered as the next head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It is believed that Brian Shaw wanted to wait and see what Phil Jackson was doing in Los Angeles, and the Cleveland Cavaliers wanted to have a coach in place for the beginning of free agency to show organizational stability to LeBron James.
Byron Scott comes with ten years of NBA coaching experience, which featured two unsuccessful trips to the NBA Finals with New Jersey and winning the 2008 coach of the year award with New Orleans.
Scott does come with some baggage however.
He has been fired from each of his two previous head coaching jobs after each team hit a rough patch.
Neither of these two firings seems to have affected the man who won three NBA Championships as a player, and he seems poised to make the third time a charm with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Scott has been quoted this week saying that he would take the Cavaliers job with or without LeBron James, and that Cleveland without LeBron James is still a better situation than either of the two situations he walked into in the past.
Scott does have a lot of experience dealing with rebuilding teams, which is something that the Cleveland Cavaliers will surely be if LeBron James decides to take his act to a grander stage in this free agency.
Throughout this entire coaching search Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has been looking for a strong leader, with NBA experience, and someone who can coach the team with or without LeBron James.
And it looks the Cavaliers have finally got their man in Byron Scott.
