Can LeBron James surpass Kobe Bryant and become our generation’s superstar?

LeBron James, a basketball player who was famously known as King James till last year, but that all changed when he decided to leave his hometown Cleveland and decided to reside in South Florida. James left the Cleveland Cavaliers where he won countless titles and won a conference title for the first time in his life.
James joined the Miami heat with intentions of playing alongside his two best friends, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. James was known to be Cavaliers leader, but now he is Wade’s batman; the five-time MVP himself stated recently he will be joining Dwyane Wade’s team.
On the other hand Kobe Bryant came to the NBA in 2006 joining the Los Angeles Lakers and since then has remained a patriot to the team. Although experts say that Bryant came to a team which already held many championship titles.
However Bryant is a remarkable player and his consistency throughout his career till date has left the NBA nation in disbelief. However critics say that Bryant was not able to win championships with Shaquille O’Neal and after O’Neal’s departure from the Lakers Kobe was left in panic and could not win any championships the following year. Conversely when Pau Gasol joined the Lakers in 2008 he filled in Shaquille’s shoes and Kobe won two titles back to back once in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
Kobe Bryant is now a veteran who is immensely respected and cheered by most of the basketball enthusiasts, while on the other hand James is someone who everyone worshipped since he was in high school and is now labelled as coward and traitor.
Experts say that a true champion is measured by his success, not by his off court facade and past idiocy. Bryant is famous for his infidelity to his wife and his huge ego, was detested and tarnished by the media a few years ago but now is seen under the lime light and considered amongst the legends.
Media outlets, fans, former teammates of James might be condemning him for leaving his team behind for selfish reasons. Experts claim all that will change, as the team will heal people who were hurt by his decision because James left with a mind set to join the league’s youngest and most aspiring stars to win a National Championship. If he is able to do so most will forget his image of being a traitor.
