The 2009 Washington Redskins season was not just hampered by an injury bug that often revels on numerous rosters each year, having a fan expect it to be wearing a jersey of its own.
The offensive line was a weak point of the roster from opening day, and it only eroded daily as injuries took away [...]
The inevitable has occurred. Dan Haren has been traded. He is now a member of the Los Angeles Angels. One of the players the Arizona Diamondbacks will receive in return is Joe Saunders.
It could have been worse, but I don’t know if there is anything better than just hanging on to Haren[...]
Let us talk Duke football. Yes, football. The sport played at usually empty Wallace Wade Stadium. The Cameron Crazies rarely venture much around this part of campus, but the 2009 team gave them some reason to be optimistic as they came close to earning their first bowl berth since 1994.
Duke coach David Cutcliffe had a prolific passing team in 2009,[...]
Shut the hell up, Michael Jordan. Nobody should be listening to you. You were an amazing basketball player — probably the best ever — but you are showcasing your arrogance and selfishness. We all know that about you by now.
So nobody should care that you said you would never have called Larry Bird and Magic [...]
Our dear friend, associate and SJ family member, Scott aka NYSR, is about to undergo urgent, critical, experimental chemo treatment for cancer. No one has to tell you how expensive such treatment is.

I woke up this morning not sure if Dan Haren would still be an Arizona Diamondback. Apparently he is. As of last night, the New York Yankees were front-runners to acquire the Dbacks ace, however, they fell out of the front-runner position after turning Arizona down on an offer that included Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain.
A bunch of teams [...]
This is the first “Under Review:” post (hopefully they get better over time) I’m going to be talking about contracts (I bet you can guess what inspired this post.) Here are a few thoughts I’ve had on them and maybe a few ideas that will spark some debate (or resonate with you.)
As NFL training camps begin in less than a week, the talk around the league has been free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens.
After being notified in the early months of 2010 that he would not be returning to Buffalo, Owens has faced constant rumors since then.
This past month I’ve taken a lot of time away from the computer and television and spent it outside, mostly at ball games trying to enjoy the real elements of baseball. Coming back to internet and technology was bound to happen and in fact got hard to avoid. But, while it was away I enjoyed [...]
Now that Nebraska is a part of the Big Ten, the Big 10 is actually a 12 team league, while the Big 12 now truly has ten teams. Which of course makes a ton of sense. Like the 1995-2001 NFC West division in the NFL. It contained the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, St Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints. Yes, nothing says “west” like two teams in the Eastern time zone…
