Stafon Johnson down but not out

It was heartbreaking to watch Stafon Johnson carted from the field in his first NFL game. As his eyes pooled with tears, it was an outpouring of emotion from a man challenged to the fullest in pursuit of his dream.
The Former USC tailback suffered a dislocated ankle and broken fibula, and underwent corrective surgery on Monday. By Tuesday, he was waived by the Titans. It’s a setback that will temporarily hold him down, but both Johnson and Fisher agree that he’s not out.
The NFL is a business, and the release of Johnson cleared space for an able bodied person to fill a spot on the roster. But Titans coach Jeff Fisher (known more recently as ‘The Kiffin-hater’) says the team will keep Stafon around, anticipating a return of the rookie in 8-9 weeks. Johnson supported this on twitter, informing us all that we haven’t seen the last of him in a Titans uniform.
