Here are my BCS Conference winners picks. Actually, they are a combination of my groups choices, but most of us agree on all of these picks:

ACC: Atlantic: This division is Florida State’s to lose. Boston College just does not have quite enough, and the injury bug has bitten them. Clemson has too tough a schedule. The rest are also-rans.

Coastal: This division just got a bit easier. Va.Tech is still the pick, with Miami and Ga.Tech certainly in the mix. UNC is in big trouble with the NCAA, and drops a notch, which mean from contender to 4th place finisher.

Big East: Wide open here, but we went with West Virginia based on the numbe of returning starters they have. Pitt will be in the picture, but must be able to throw the ball. UConnis the “it” pick and gets a schedule break. Cincy has a bunch of question marks. The rest trail the field.

Big 10: We like Wisconsin here. They have the best offense in the Big 10 and a rather easy schedule. Ohio State is very good, but goes to both Wisky and Iowa. The latter gets a big scheduling break, but Ferentz has failed to win with better teams. Penn State will not win it all, but can beat anyone on any given day. The rest will be fighting for bowl bids.

Big 12: North. Nebraska by default. They have much the better talent, and get a big schedule break. Missouri is a distant second. The rest are hoping for 6 wins and a bowl.

South: Ou or Texas. So what’s new? We like OU because of their offense and their tough non-con schedule before the Texas game. Texas has to find a running game, and must play at Nebraska. A&M is capable of an upset.

Pac 10: This is going to be wild. Oregon gets the nod here, but not by much. They have a ton of talent, but their defense has always been questionable. USC is certainly in the mix. They get Oregon at home, and have nothing to lose. Oregon State will have to rebound from a potential rough start. Stanford, Washington, Cal and Arizona are in the mix.

SEC East: Florida is the favorite in what has become a weak division. Only Georgia has a realistic chance of challenging here. South Carolina may be in trouble with the NCAA. Tennessee is a plane crash looking for survivors. Kentucky has problems, and Vandy is, well Vandy.

West: Alabama is the pick, but it will not be easy. Arkansas can put up a ton of points. Auburn has new found confidence and a lot of returning starters. LSU is in the mix, especially if Miles does not give away games. The two Mississippi teams have a ways to go.

ACC Champs: Va. Tech
Big 12 Champs: Nebraska by an eyelash over OU.
SEC Champs: Alabama, but do not sell Florida short.
