Since my last post drew a lot of attention from facebook and twitter, here’s part 2 of my MLB playoff predictions.

Phillies vs. Giants

We all know the Giants “beat” a Braves team that essentially beat themselves. *Players like Brooks Conrad, Nate Mclouth, Melky Cabrera and Kyle Farnsowrth should never be “important” parts to a playoff teams run. *It just doesn’t work like that. *That’s like saying the jackasses who can barely speak english selling peanuts*deserve*rings when they work for a team that wins the championship. *C’mon you’re worthless and everyone knows it. *Anyway, the Giants pitching was pretty astounding though and I have to give them that. *Lincecum is as advertised and looked untouchable, while Cain is always pretty dirty and Sanchez when he can throw strikes is also unhittable. *But we are talking about a suped up Philly offense facing the now, so we’ll really see just how good they are.

The Phillies pitching on the other hand is even better. *I’ll take Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels any day of the week over the Giants staff. *Also, the Giants offense is pretty putrid, and if the Braves starters can shut them down for 3 of the 4 games then who knows what the Phils can do. *I wouldn’t be surprised to see 3 shutouts to start the series. *I mean, if Roy Halladay can no hit the #1 offense in the NL, than what the hell is he going to do to one of the NL’s worst? *It’s going to be real fun to see Pat Burrell back in Philly striking out like he always has, and of course being booed, like he always has.

Yankees vs. Rangers

This is definitely going to be the better of the two LCS’s, and this is a really tough pick for me. *It’s funny because itimpresses me that Texas was able to win all three of their games on the road. *But at the same time I think that’s because Tampa found it odd that there were*actually*fans in their building NOT rooting for the Yankees, and it*obviously*didn’t feel like home to them. *Also, it scares me that Texas wasn’t able to win at home, where they are*definitely*going to need to against the Yanks. *Cliff Lee is an absolute monster, and I will personally*guarantee*that if the Rangers win this series, and it is because of Lee, he will be a fucking Yankee next season. *Pisses me off more than anything but it will happen. *I actually like Texas’s lineup better than New York’s because it is hands down the most underrated in baseball. *Nelson Cruz is a beast and no one EVER talks about the guy. *Plus they got Vlad, and he’s the man.
