Mazeroski’s One-of-a-Kind Walk-off: It’s the only Game 7 walk-off homerun in baseball history, and as a result, it may be the most famous homerun in baseball history. Mazeroski, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001, was in the company of greatness during the 1960 World Series. Seven of the players involved would retire with a Most Valuable Player award on their resumes — five of whom played for the Yankees. Mazeroski’s timely hitting was crucial, as the Pirates had been outscored 55-26 before the homer.
