Following his totally lopsided defeat Saturday to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs has issued a formal statement assuring his well-being.
The former heavyweight titlist was hospitalized in Hamburg at the conclusion of the 12 round bout with Klitschko. Though Briggs took a severe beating for most of the fight, he was not [...]
It was a crazy weekend in college football. For the second straight week, the #1 team entering the weekend is not atop the standings on Sunday. Alabama fell to South Carolina last weekend and Ohio State got upset by Wisconsin on Saturday.
There are now ten undefeated teams left in college football, so there may be some BCS bowl controversy [...]
Where exactly do you start to break down why the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to be atrociously bad on both sides of the ball? Is it the coaching? The inconsistent (at best) quarterback play? The fact that their defense seems to bleed points left and right? There are almost as many holes in this franchise as [...]
Another essay of mine. Just posting to generate discussion. I personally have nothing against our military men and women. I actually am thankful to all those who serve our country and fight for our freedom…
Military service should not be mandatory because men and women should be given the choice on whether they want to put [...]
It’s okay, we know you do too.
Our undying love for Cliff Lee was cemented last night with his brilliant eight-inning, two-hit, thirteen strikeout performance during the Texas Rangers’ 8-0 win over the New York Yankees All-Star lineup in Game 3 of the ALCS.
Josh Hamilton, who had a pretty good view of the clinic from centerfield, smoked a two-run shot in the first, which was all the run support[..]
Join Mark and Ben this week as they preview the NBA and discuss the NFL, and of course they’ll have SJ Partner KZ from FansFantasyFootball.com on for his weekly fantasy football segment. They’ll also talk MMA with Tyson Chartier, an amateur contender. And, as usual, Mark will do the sports world whiparound to cover the [...]
Today’s game was considered by many to be a must win game for both the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.
Despite playing with a banged up quarterback Brett Favre, the Vikings edged the penalty prone Cowboys 24-21 at the Metrodome on Sunday.
It’s not going to be a sweep for the Yankees. The Rangers got their first postseason victory at home in their 50 seasons with a 7-2 blowout win over the Yankees.
After a bullpen collapse last night, the Rangers were able to hold on to their lead. The Rangers’ bullpen was the complete opposite of what [...]
The Los Angeles Lakers’ Ron Artest has not earned his reputation by keeping quiet. The controversial defender gave his opinion as to who he thinks are the best players in the NBA. In what may surprise many, neither LeBron James nor Dwyane Wade were on the list.
The Miami Heat has been the talk of the summer as Pat Riley was able to bring in James and Chris Bosh to team with Wade.[...]
Just read on SI.com that Vitali Klitschko dominated Shannon Briggs to retain his WBC heavyweight title.
I was shocked by this news, in that:
A. I didn’t realize Vitali Klitschko is still heavyweight champ.
B. I couldn’t believe Briggs still commands title fights.
