Bob Arum Attempts To Make The Case That Manny Pacquiao Is A Better Fighter Than Muhammad Ali

Probably the most difficult, and useless, exercise to embark upon is trying to compare two athletes in two different eras. It’s even more difficult, and useless, to do this in boxing because of the multiple weight classes and quality of opponents. But that’s exactly what veteran promoted Bob Arum decided to do with Manny Pacquiao and Muhammad Ali.

And though I don’t confess to be a close follower of boxing, I’ll just let Arum make his case and disagree based on the fact that everyone thinks Ali is the greatest. So he must be. Everyone can’t be wrong, right?

Prove us wrong, Bob.

“I look at Manny as being the best that I’ve ever seen, including Ali,” Arum told Reuters. “Ali was a great fighter and had great, great attributes and it’s really unfair to compare a big guy like Ali with a little guy like Pacquiao.”

See Bob agrees that this is a useless exercise, but we’ll him continue.
