For many years now, the NBA has been home to fresh, raw high school talent and one and done college freshman. Most notably John Wall and his one year and done at Kentucky and then there was LeBron James who came straight out of high school in his home state of Ohio. These type of players are rather freakish, in a good way, with their talents and everyone knows they will take the league by storm.
Join Mark and Ben (if Mark isn’t still celebrating…) as they discuss the NFL and NCAA football. There are some huge Turkey Day games in the NFL and it’s Rivalry Weekend in the NCAA. They’ll also have SJ Partner KZ from FansFantasyFootball.com on for his weekly fantasy football segment. And, as usual, Mark will do [...]
Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars came in typical Cleveland fashion, losing a fourth quarter lead late in the game; yet, the offense is more to blame than the defense. The offense’s inability to move the ball in the third and fourth quarters proved more detrimental to the Browns chances of winning, than the [...]
I could go on forever if I included all the rivalries like USC-Notre Dame, Ohio State-Michigan, so I won’t. I will just stick to the games of importance from a BCS and Conference Championship proseptive:
Thursday:
Texas A&M at Texas. This Turkey Night game is important because Texas must win this game to become bowl eligable. This rivalry just took on a lot more importance. [...]
Monday was a big day for “Joey’s” across the world. After years of having Joey Harrington, Joey Buttafuoco, and even failed NBC sitcom “Joey” as their standard-bearers over the years, they needed a hero.
It looks they found their hero [...]
Is Jason Garrett the answer in Dallas?
Two weeks ago, I would have laughed at this question, “Is Jason Garrett the answer in Dallas?” The only thing that brought more fear to me than leaving Wade Phillips as the coach, was to give the position to Jason Garrett because his offense appeared to under achieving more than Wade’s defense. After two victories under Garrett, I am not so quick [...]
The World renowned boxing champion Mike Tyson had to face a rough couple of years before he became a household name in boxing.
He was only two when his father abandoned him and his family. Lorna Smith Tyson then had to bear the responsibility of raising two sons and a daughter on her own…
There’s much more than one peril that can eat up the Buckeyes and their five-straight Big Ten title rear end against the Iowa Hawkeyes today. First and foremost, they are playing the Iowa Hawkeyes, a physical, talented team that has let three football games slip through their fingers so far this year. Second peril, they’re pissed off. After losing those three games by only nine points, getting on a roll, locking in, and serving Ohio State a big plate of whupping would make the Hawkeyes feel a lot better about themselves this year.
First off: Josh Cribbs is probably out this weekend. He dislocated four toes (that’s right, FOUR) on his right foot, and Cleveland has already signed a return man to fill that role.
It’s not like Cleveland has a plethora of eligible WR’s. Cribbs says that he intends to play against the Jags this weekend, but “Come On, Man!”
Second: Scott Fujita could miss…
I understand the Detroit Tigers have a lot of money to spend this offseason. But there is a smart way to spend that money and there is a moronic way of spending it.
Spending over $15 million on a 33-year-old middle reliever, who didn’t even pitch in 2009 is a moronic way of spending money.
The Tigers signed RHP Joaquin on Wednesday to a[...]
