It’s time for the daily linkage. You know the drill, here’s some stories from around the ‘net that we like and you SHOULD too!
Greg Oden’s third season-ending injury leaves a player ‘devastated’ and Blazers franchise numb (The Oregonian)
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is one of the hot stories in the NFL this season. He is playing better than he ever has in his career and he has the Eagles flying high and looking like a NFC favorite. How will the real Vick’s success translate to the “cyber-Vick?”
Entering the week, Michael Vick sits at an 87 overall rating compared to the 73 overall [...]
The Wisconsin Badgers handled the North Dakota Fighting Sioux by the score of 85-53 at the Kohl Center. The Badgers have never dropped a game at home in November under Bo Ryan, extending that streak to 26 on Tuesday.
It was no surprise the Badgers were the first ranked team the Fighting Sioux have played since transitioning to Division One because North Dakota (1-1) really had no chance in this one.
Probably the most difficult, and useless, exercise to embark upon is trying to compare two athletes in two different eras. Join Mark and Ben as they discuss the NFL and NCAA football. They’ll also have SJ Partner KZ from FansFantasyFootball.com [...]
Fresh off of their sixth playoff appearance in nine seasons, the Minnesota Twins have a lot of decisions to make this offseason.
Do the Twins bring back Carl Pavano, who went 17-11 with a 3.75 ERA and tossed seven complete games in 32 starts? Do they bring back Jim Thome, who hit 25 HR’s and had a .412 OBP in 340 PA’s?
Wow! Just wow. The Jason Garrett Era as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys starts with a stunning 33-20 win over the NFC East-leading New York Giants. The new-look Cowboys traveled to New Meadowlands stadium and at 4:15 PM EST played a game against the Giants, just as new Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett had predicted. What no one predicted was a victory by the Cowboys. [...]
Now that the playoffs and World Series are over, it is time for baseball fans to either choose the NFL or the NBA, or dwell on the “what if?” scenarios.
Since professional football players have now become entrenched in a kill-or-be-killed mentality I must confess to all sports fans that I have not watched an entire quarter of football yet this fall.[...]
For more than a decade, the media has a tendency to overly promote and overrate the most overrated position in the NFL. The quarterback of today is more robotic than legendary, relying on a coach to tell him exactly what to do every play through means of telecommunications.
With rules pandering to them at every action [...]
