Jerry Sloans steps down as Utah Jazz’s interim coach

The basketball world and NBA saw one of the most respected and devoted coaches resign and end a 23-year old coaching tenure with the Utah Jazz.

Sloan might not have won a championship or earned a coach of the year award during his tenure but he was without a doubt one of the most hard-working coaches present till date. The 68-year-old coach served the team for 23 seasons and was always of the opinion that the team should emphasize on unity.

May be, this very same reason forced him into resigning. The coach went into an argument with point guard Deron Williams in halftime during their loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, 9 February, 2011.

The point guard has been trying to dominate other teammates on court and this infuriated the coach, who believed that nothing was more important than the team.

The coach left the team with assistant coach Ty Corbin and wished him luck as he advised the new coach “to be himself”.

All the teams are devastated at the news but Sloan put it all on fatigue and said that he doesn’t have that much energy left now.
