After a season of continuous speculations and rumours as to where Carmelo Anthony will play his basketball in the second half of the season, the melodrama finally appears to have ended.

The Denver Nuggets have finally agreed to send their star forward and All-Star Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks in a block buster move. The news which was confirmed by a source in the league finally put an end to the speculation surrounding Anthony’s future, in which he was linked to the New Jersey Nets, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Knicks themselves.

The mega trade that involves nine other players of both the franchises will follow a pattern in which the Knicks would send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash estimated around $ 3 million.

In return, the New York Knicks will be acquiring the services of veteran Denver point guard Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman in addition to Carmelo.

While the Denver Nuggets owners were also busy in trying to strike a deal with New Jersey Nets over the course of the last two months; success at that front became bleak on Sunday before the All-Star game.

Late Saturday, Anthony had met with Prokhorov, the nets majority owner, Nets minority owner Jay-Z and general manager Billy King. But, when Prokhorov was asked about the meeting and if he had any news on the deal he bluntly replied, “I don’t care.”

On the other hand, the Knicks management had given an apparent go ahead on Sunday when they quashed all the rumors about the disagreement with the Nuggets, over giving up too much for Anthony.
