Hampton Calls it a Career

In really what is no surprise, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Hampton called it a career today and retired from baseball. Hampton has a 11.17 ERA in nine games this spring. He had given up 12 runs in just 9.2 innings. The writing was on the wall.
Hampton had been trying to make his comeback from such an injury riddled career. Hampton finishes his career with a record of 148-115 and an ERA of 4.06. His career started with the Seattle Mariners. After Seattle, his career took him through Houston, Atlanta, New York, Colorado, back to Atlanta and Houston, and ended with a brief stint in Arizona.
