For as long as I can remember, games between the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks have always been exciting to watch.

I am sure my fellow Red Wings fans and the fans of the Sharks can all agree with me on this.

It all started in 1994 when the No. 1 Detroit Red Wings took on the eighth-seeded San Jose Sharks in the first round of the 1994 playoffs.

Detroit was the heavy favorite in the series, not only for finishing first in the conference, but also the fact that the Red Wings finished 18 points better in the standings.

San Jose had just finished their third regular season in the NHL and posted 82 points (their first two seasons they finished with a combined total of  63 points) and made the playoffs for the first time in their history.

But that didn’t phase the young team.
