What Ohio State MUST Do Now!

E Michigan Ohio St Football
It just gets worse and worse for Ohio State. On top of all of their other problems, it has been announced that QB Terrelle Prior is now being investigated by both the NCAA and the Ohio State Compliance Committee for numerous violations concerning cars. For Ohio State to avoid getting hit with harsh penalties from the NCAA, this is what they MUST do, and soon.

1. They must suspend Prior indefinitely, not just for 5 games. If these allegations are proven to be true (and they will most likely be proven to be true), and Ohio State allows him to play in another game, Ohio State is begging for the Death Penalty.

2. Ohio State MUST self impose penalties. Remember when things hit the fan at USC, the Basketball program self imposed penalties, and did NOT receive any additional penalties from the NCAA. What Ohio State should do is self impose penalties that include a one year ban on any post season play starting this season, and a reduction of 5 scholarships for two years, starting in 2012.

If Ohio State does this, they may be able to avoid more severe penalties that the NCAA would probably impose. Ohio State surely has nothing to lose by doing this. There simply is no way that they can escape with any less penalties than those. Things are only going to get worse for Ohio State, as more and more violations are revealed. If they act now, they have a chance to receive penalties less severe than USC received. If they do not, the penalties that they will receive will be as harsh as those USC received, or worse.

It’s your move, Buckeyes.
