This is what I witnessed:
Dirk Nowitzki – 29 points, 6 rebounds
Jason Terry – 21 points, 6 assists
J.J. Barea – 17 points, 5 assists
Jason Kidd – 13 points, 6 assists
LeBron James – 17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 POINTS IN THE 4TH QUARTER.
I’m sorry everyone, even though he got a triple-double, I never, never, ever, never, ever, ever want to hear LeBron James in the same sentence with the great, the super-human, the best ever, Michael Jordan. LeBron is a great player, no question about that, but Michael Jordan never went 4 games out of 5 in The NBA Finals scoring two or fewer points.
This is unbelievable. This is the same man that on numerous occasions has scored over 50 points in Madison Square Garden. This is a man that is usually one of the top scorers in the league almost every season, but he can’t perform in the 4th quarter of The Finals when it counts. Dwayne Wade had 23 points & 8 assists & he didn’t even play half of the game because of a hip injury.
I don’t care if the Miami Heat come back & win both of their home games (Games 6 & 7 in the series) like the L.A. Lakers did last year when they were down 3-2 heading back home, if anyone ever tries to say that LeBron James is in the same league as Michael Jordan, I will use this Finals series as conclusive evidence that they are 100% wrong.
Let’s not take anything away from the Dallas Mavericks. Their defense was wonderful & the guard play was phenomenal. Dirk Nowitzki finally got the help he deserved. Jason Terry finally showed up like everyone has wanted him to do and J.J. Barea proved to everyone that short folks can be major ballers too.
All of these NBA Finals games have been phenomenal & I expect Game 6 in Miami to deliver the same kind of excitement. I’m 29 years old & have watched the NBA Finals since 1991. This is the most entertaining NBA Finals Series I’ve witnessed. If there is a lockout next season, this is the way to start the break from NBA basketball.
Incredible!
