2011 NHL Draft: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins No. 1 Overall Pick

With the 1st pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, the Edmonton Oilers select Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, a center from the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League.
Nugent-Hopkins is the top-ranked skater in the draft, as determined by Central Scouting, although he was selected second overall in SB Nation’s network-wide Mock Draft. Peter Sullivan of Central Scouting made the almighty Gretzky comparison when talking about RNG, saying that his vision is perhaps the best since No. 99. He dazzles when he has the puck and his passing is perhaps the best in the draft.
