Florida Marlins Trade For Mike Cameron

Just a couple of days after being designated for assignment by the Boston Red Sox, Mike Cameron has found a new home.
The Florida Marlins acquired the 38-year-old outfielder for a player to be named later or cash. I am going to say there is a 70 percent change the Marlins will accept cash from the Red Sox.
Not that I think the Marlins can turn their season around, but I think this is a pretty good move for them.
Despite hitting only .149/.212/.266 with three HR’s in 103 PA’s, Cameron can still play defense. And defense has been one of — if not the biggest — problem for the Marlins over the past couple of years. The Marlins could use Cameron in center or as a defensive replacement for Logan Morrison in left or Mike Stanton in right.
