MLB Rumors: Ubaldo Jimenez of Rockies for Yonder Alonso, Volquez in Cincinnati?

I was browsing the current state of trades in MLB this morning when I saw what the Colorado Rockies demanded from the Cincinnati Reds for their ace of the staff, Ubaldo Jimenez. According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, they want Yonder Alonso and a MLB starting pitcher.

Alonso was recently called up from Triple-A Louisville to fill the spot vacated by Jonny Gomes’ recent departure to the nation’s capital. He is currently being used as a pinch-hitter while Reds fans impatiently continue to watch the Chris Heisey experiment.

The Reds’ Opening Day starter, Edinson Volquez is currently doing time with the Louisville Bats and looks as though he will be ready to return to the upper level shortly.
