“The Stack” 7-29-11

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s “The Stack” with me, Nathan Stacken. Plenty of interesting topics to talk about toda, so let’s get right to it and see what made today’s “The Stack”:
1. NFL free agency craziness continues.
Three days into free agency and the madness continues, as it should. There were plenty of big moves made yesterday. Here are a few of the more notable ones.
We mentioned yesterday that the New England Patriots traded for Albert Haynesworth formerly of the Washington Redskins and it only cost them a fifth round pick. The Patriots weren’t done though. They got Chad Ochocinco from the Cincinnati Bengals for a couple of late round picks. Bill Belichick always seems to have something up his sleeves. He let everyone see it Thursday putting the Patriots in a prime position at a Super Bowl run, maybe making them favorites.
Kevin Kolb was finally traded yesterday. The Philadelphia Eagles sent him to the Arizona Cardinals for a second round pick in 2012 and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. That is a steep price the Cardinals gave up for a guy with only seven career starts. He better be worth it. In addition, the Cardinals signed Kolb to a 5-year deal worth 63 million dollars. Again, that is a lot for a guy with only seven career starts.
Quarterback Vince Young was released from the Tennessee Titans yesterday, but it didn’t take long for him to sign with a new team. Young signed with the Philadelphia Eagles where he will back up Michael Vick. Good move by Young. He can and will learn a lot.
Finally, running back Darren Sproles decided he had enough of San Diego and signed with the New Orleans Saints who needed another running back now that Reggie Bush is no longer with the team. Saints got a good back in Sproles.
There were plenty of other moves made yesterday I know. We just can’t get to them all. If you haven’t already, check out profootballtalk.com. It has great insight and updates constantly.
2. Tiger Woods is coming back.
