San Francisco Giants To Make Late Season Additions?

brian-sabean1Last summer the San Francisco Giants made several small moves that ended up making a big difference in their run to a World Series championship.

The Giants added guys like Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, Javier Lopez, Ramon Ramirez and Mike Fontenot who made big contributions down the stretch. Ross and Fontenot were both acquired via the waiver wire and turned out to be great finds. San Francisco might be going that route again.

The Giants just put catcher Eli Whiteside on the seven-day disabled list with concussion symptoms and Hector Sanchez will replace him on the roster. With Buster Posey already out for the season, the defending champs are reportedly looking to acquire another catcher. Guys like Pittsburgh’s Ryan Doumit, Seattle’s Josh Bard and Toronto’s Jose Molina could all be available.
