Nathan Cleverly vows to beat Tony Bellew in his own backyard
The current World Boxing Organisation’s light heavyweight world champion, Nathan Cleverly, is furious over the reigning Commonwealth light heavyweight champion, Tony Bellew, as the Welshman has vowed he will smash the Brit on the fight night.
The 24-year-old, Nathan Cleverly, had to take on the 28-year-old Liverpudlian, Tony Bellew after Jurgen Braehmer, who was previously set to face Nathan, was stripped off the crown but unfortunately the Bellew-Cleverly bout even then could not get on the cards as Bellew failed to make the weight.
However now when the pair, who nearly fought at their press-conference on May 21, 2011, is finally set for a massive title showdown on October 15, 2011, Cleverly reckons this is a chance for him to make Bellew eat his words.
Cleverly, who has won all of his 22 professional fights, with 11 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, claimed in front of the media that he will smash the brash Brit in the ring.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “It’s just a ring at the end of the day and if I have to smash up Bellew in his hometown, that’s the way it is. I’ve got a job to do and wherever the fight is, I will do it. He’s going to eat his words.”
