Dallas Cowboys Fan World: Dallas Cowboys Lose To New York Jets, 27-24

cowboysjets26During one of the most emotional days in this country’s history, the Dallas Cowboys came into MetLife Stadium to play against the New York Jets. They came in with little to no expectations from anybody. Even according to Tony Dungy of NBC Football Night In America, the Jets would win BIG. They didn’t lose BIG, but the Cowboys did lose 27-24. The Jets, in my opinion, did not win this game. The Cowboys lost and gave this game to the Jets.

The Cowboys offensively had a good game, scoring 21 points and setting up a field goal for undrafted rookie free agent kicker, Dan Bailey for the first three quarters. Not saying they were perfect or were great, just saying they were playing good enough to win the game. Tony Romo was making good decisions and making the throws. Dez Bryant looked like he could catch anything against any shutdown corner. The young offensive line held its own against the aggressive Jets defense. Felix Jones looks very capable of being the featured back. Miles Austin’s fight for the ball against Cromartie for the touchdown was excellent. Everything seemed to be clicking right for the Cowboys offensively.

Defensively, I believed that there was lots of improvement from what I saw during preseason. Still some work to do, but I liked their fight and effort. This was even using backups through most of the game, due to injuries to Orlando Scandrick and Mike Jenkins in the game. Cowboys were already short with Terrence Newman not playing due to his groin. Jenkins kept trying to come back in the game trying to help the team. Sean Lee took over the starting inside linebacker role from Keith Brooking and he had a great game individually. He led the team with nine tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
