Report: Ozzie Guillen Set To Manage Miami Marlins

ozzie-guillenWell, that didn’t take long. On the same day he was reportedly set to be let go by the Chicago White Sox – and current Florida Marlins manager Jack McKeon announced he’d retire – Ozzie Guillen is reportedly headed south to become the first manager of the Miami Marlins.

ESPN Chicago has reported that Guillen will be “traded” to the Marlins in exchange for two minor league players, but both teams have declined to comment on the transaction.

Earlier on Monday the White Sox accepted Guillen’s request to be released from him contract after eight seasons, 677 wins, two division titles and a World Series championship in 2005.

According to the report, if Guillen does indeed go to Miami to manage the Marlins the team will need to send two minor leaguers to the White Sox as compensation.
