Shocker In St. Louis As Rams Top Saints For First Win

The Rams entered their Week 8 clash with the mighty Saints with no wins and no Sam Bradford. It turns out that it was still no sweat for St. Louis to pull one of the season’s biggest upsets and defeat New Orleans, 31-21.

Steven Jackson paced the Rams, running for 159 yards and two touchdowns, and A.J. Feeley, making his second start in relief of the injured Bradford, threw for 175 yards and a score, helping the Rams build a huge 24-0 lead in the second quarter.

Drew Brees tried to rally New Orleans, playing without injured running back Mark Ingram, but he didn’t have his usual success through the air, throwing for 269 yards and tossing two interceptions, one a pick-six that essentially ended the Saints’ comeback chances.

Brees’ lone touchdown, to Lance Moore, came with nine seconds left in the game. It doesn’t get more irrelevant than that.

St. Louis got its first win of the season in this one, and moves to 1-6 for 2011; the Saints suffered their third loss, and fell to 5-3.
