After struggling with his knees for the past few seasons, Portland Trail Blazers star shooting guard Brandon Roy announced his medical retirement today after the doctors told him he can’t play now.

Truly, this saddens me. Roy was a monster coming out of college and won Rookie of the Year in 2006. He was truly something special. The young stud only lasted five seasons, but made the most of it, as he made it to three All-Star games.

It’s just sad to see such a great career end so short due to injury. However, his legacy will live on and I look forward to the next chapter of his life. He’s had some amazing moments, though. For one, you can look at his
