It’s time, once again, to listen to a Red Sox fan rant and rave

johnlackeyrmdta08vwmmmI, for one, am not happy in the slightest about the direction that the Red Sox organization are heading. The future isn’t so bright and the front office are all too blame for this! So far, this offseason they have cleaned house with the coaching staff and with some of the higher ups in the general manager’s office, they went on a managerial search that took over 2 and a half months to name a guy they already had pegged for the job, it was all smoke and mirrors to send a message to new GM, Ben Cherington, that he “is not Theo Epstien, they are running the show, so sit back and be a good puppet.” After that, they went comatose during the Winter Meetings, dishing out a sole excuse that they don’t want to exceed the luxury tax to fix the weaknesses of the team.

I got news for you, If the Red Sox management want to compete in 2012, they are going to have to exceed the luxury tax and they only have themselves (and Epstein) to blame for the already bloated team salary. I mean, look at all the amazingly awful contracts the front office saddled up our 2012 Red Sox with as “Friendly Fenway” turns 100.

First off, That beer guzzlin’, Wife divorcin’, Fried chicken eatin’, son of a bitch, John Lackey is knocking on the office door looking for his $15 and a quarter million dollars for divorce lawyers and family sized KFC buckets (for himself, of course!) while he sits out 2012, “rehabbing” from recently having Tommy John surgery. They will be shelling out a cool $10 million to the Japanese gyro-ballin’ phenomenon, Mr. WBC himself, Daisuke Matsuzaka! He will be shining the pine until the All-Star break, at least, while he also recovers from Tommy John surgery. So that’s $25 million the Red Sox are handcuffed with paying these two.
