Whoever Blames Romo for this one is a MORON.

I’m sure the haters are going to come out of the wood work pointing at Romo’s overthrow of Austin that would have sealed it for Dallas. Yes, he flat out missed him after making the correct read and it was a bad throw.

Here’s the point: IT SHOULDN’T HAVE COME TO THAT.

If the offense drops 30+ on a team, you should win. There’s no “Unless” in that statement. I don’t care if it’s the Greatest Show on Turf out there or Eli playing really well. The defense needs to step up, as does its coach. What we saw last night was ineptitude in every single phase. Sure there were some nice plays, a couple 3rd down stuffs and the pick by Lee after a heads up play by Butler. We don’t need some good plays, we need a good defense.

-The Run Game: I never thought i could see a guy get hit at the line and fall forward for oh…TEN YARDS AND A FIRST. Brandon Jacobs had his way last night.

-The Pass Rush: Not sure why i made this a category..we had none. Eli was pressured maybe 3-4 times the whole night, but other than that his pass plays went as such: Drop 7 steps back, find the open man, throw it. Rob Ryan responded to this lack of pressure by sending in more guys who can’t pass rush. Awesome. The Giants may as well have published a book on how to blitz pick up. They showed a stat last night that sums this all up: D-Ware accounts for over 40% of sacks this season. Double up on him and we’ve got no one else consistent nor reliable.

-Coverage: So the lack of pass rush means the D-Backs get a pass since Eli had all the time in the world right? HELL NO. How many times did we see Romo make his initial reads, then duck down and start trying to get up or out of the pocket so his guys could get open? How many times did Eli have to do that? Not NEVER. Because Cruz, Manningham and especially Nicks were open all night long. Newman got beaten like a dude that owes another dude money. Scandrick, Ball and Walker were either getting beat or were getting penalized. Jenkins was the only one that was sticking to his man, but big deal he’d get hurt every other play anyway. To say we need a CB in the draft or FA is an understatement. How we tried to sell the farm for Nnamdi but did not pursue a cheaper, younger, and possibly better Jonathan Joseph is beyond me.

-One for the road: On the offensive side, Doug Free got taken to task by an insanely good JPP. Dude picked up a safety and a blocked kick. He won the game for the Giants when they had a terrible defensive display as well. We’ll probably see Free and Tyron switch sides this offseason in the hopes that Free will dominate like he used to and Tyron will be so good that he can deal with the likes of Cole, JPP and Orakpo for years to come.

Simply put, Romo threw 4 touchdowns, no picks and gave the defense more than enough points to work with. Hell give Felix Jones credit too for running like he wants the starting job back. Something tells me though that Romo’s missed throw at the end is going to be put on some idiot’s pedestal of “Anti-Clutch Romo Coaster moments”, and that’s ridiculous. Romo gave the defense 12 points to DEFEND, and they blew it. Again. Dallas should have a firm hand on this division. Not shockingly, they’ve found a way to fumble it to an advantageous team.
